UKAEA Award - Continued R&D!

The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA), the UK’s national fusion energy research and development organisation, has awarded six organisations with £9.6 million of contracts to advance their concepts to support fusion energy development.

"These organisations have been awarded contracts to scale up their projects after successfully developing their technologies to the ‘proof of concept’ stage. The continued support from the Fusion Industry Programme will enable these fusion projects to be scaled up and contribute further to the growth of the global fusion powerplant market."

Aqsorption and IVe Ammonia Storage for Hydrogen Vehicle

In pursuit of sustainable and clean energy solutions, IVe (Innervated Vehicle Engineering Ltd) has embarked on a strategic collaboration with Aqsorption, a leading innovator in advanced materials and hydrogen crackers/decomposers. Together, we are working to develop an innovative automotive ammonia storage and decompostion system that will serve as a key component in the production of hydrogen for fuel cells. This partnership signifies a significant step towards realizing our vision of a cleaner and more efficient automotive industry.

Bassingfield Solar Park

21 October

Planning permission has been granted to build a Solar Park at the Bassingfield site. This solar park will power a Green Hydrogen production facility using the green electricity generated on site. Work is now underway to commence the build and commissioning of the Solar park and associated Hydrogen production plant, with production of Green Hydrogen expected to commence  in 2024.

The Team Visit Toyota Hydrogen Event

16 October, 2023

The team visited the East Midlands Hydrogen partners Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd in Burnaston, Derby for an event to showcase the plans underway to realise the hydrogen opportunity in the East Midlands region. The event hosted over 150 local industry partners, including hydrogen producers, distributors and more than 30 prospective industrial users of hydrogen, local authority representatives, as well as political champions of hydrogen.
The event illustrated how East Midlands Hydrogen will support the development of a hydrogen ecosystem, create new skilled jobs and training opportunities, enable business startups and scaleups, whilst supporting levelling up across the East Midlands.

Graphene Engineering Innovation Centre Collaboration

Paul, our MD at Aqsorption, at the University of Manchester as Steve Barclay MP also visits. We are working with GEIC and the Henry Royce Institute collaborating on advanced and nano-engineered material science projects to develop electrolyser components with considerable improvements to the current state-of-play. The outcomes will increase hydrogen yield and add robustness and lifespan to our products and advance sector knowledge.
